ABOUT WMIG

In 1999, the AIA Seattle Committee on the Environment initiated “What Makes It GREEN?” as an observance of Earth Day by and for the local design and building community. Since then WMIG has found a place in the design community’s annual calendar. From the beginning, “What Makes It GREEN?” has focused the attention of professionals and the public alike on innovation in design and materials that allow us to achieve our vision of a sustainable future.

2007 What Makes It GREEN? has provided us with a new opportunity to share our goals and ideals of a sustainable future with a new partner. For the past several months we have collaborated with Cascadia Region Green Building Council to put together what we think is a regional event that transcends what each of us could have accomplished on our own. The future of the planet is in our hands and the future of sustainable is now!

“This transformation over the next 30 years represents a historic opportunity.” -Ed Mazria
