Holistic design is not new, for it was the only way we once knew. Through media and time, we are taught what we should love and forgo that which speaks to our very core. A reconnection of yourself to what you love and how it impacts the land and building, as well as the Earth is what holistic design is all about. We are all connected.
From a simple rain barrel to collect water for a rooftop garden to rich opulent ochres and umbers plastered on walls, to finding new purposes for furniture and even rooms themselves; we need to rethink how we design our living and working spaces. In this very brief encounter, we will begin the process of rediscovering how design, aesthetics and functionality impacts sustainability and green living. Won’t you pull up a chair?
Bio - An interior decorator by passion, Eileen Wosnack focuses her practice on sustainable, organic design for a toxin-free, safe environment. Eileen is adept at combining practicality and aesthetics, bringing a touch of luxurious beauty to sustainable interiors. But there is more to her interior design. From a holistic approach, Eileen encourages her clients to bring aspects that they love into the design of their homes: the colors, the textures and even the lines and designs of nature can contribute to the whole process. Eileen also owns Eclectrix™ Organic Home, a green life style store in White Rock and is a columnist for Natural Life Magazine and Dream House Magazine, as well as an educator.
