This one-day workshop for small organizations will provide knowledge, tools and immediate next steps for climate action planning and reducing carbon emissions.
The initial section of the workshop will provide tools, techniques, and content related to conducting a greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory (or carbon footprint assessment) of participants' organizations. Topics covered will include identification of key emission sources, setting inventory boundaries, and laying a foundation for effective climate action in your organization. Participants will draw on several helpful GHG inventory protocols. The workshop will also build participants' capacity to define organization-specific issues, communication, and climate action. This section will address a number of publicly available GHG inventories as guiding examples.
The second half of the workshop will focus on planning and supporting action in your organization. Planning templates and group activities will give participants an opportunity to determine the major issues for their respective organizations, identify key questions (for action planning and stakeholder engagement), and link climate action to organizational mission. Case studies will provide individual climate action examples, inspiration, and helpful lessons.
