Sustainability in Thurston County
The Tacoma/Olympia Branch's next meeting will take a look at sustainable projects presented by local Olympia design professionals and a review of State projects, legislation and events.
Mark Beardemphl of KMB Architecture will moderate a presentation of high performance buildings by Olympia Design Professionals. Projects presented will be:
- Pierce College Health Education Center by Tom Sanford, AIA, of MSGS Architects
- Monroe Corrections Center Intensive Management Unit by Jason Smith, P.E. LEED AP of Inventrix Engineering
- Port of Olympia East Bay Warehouse Demolition by Bob Wolpert, AIA, of KMB Design Development
- Monroe Corrections Center Regional Training Center, by Ed Schilter of Ambia Enduring Architecture
State of Washington Update:
Stuart Simpson of the Department of General Administration and Rachael Jamison of the Department of Ecology will present:
• Legislative Update (Green Building Related)
• State LEED Project Update (including K-12 and grant programs)
• Eco-Charrette Services by Ecology
• Build-It LEED Training for State Projects
• Submetering of State Projects (requirements)
• Reporting of Savings for State LEED Projects
• Post Occupancy Survey of State Projects
