The Surrey Art Gallery presents: Sustainable Architecture
This exhibition responds to a growing Canadian interest in our own architecture and a wider culture of sustainability. Many Canadian architects are designing buildings that refer to the language of modernism while taking local geography, climate, materials, culture and design history into consideration. 41º to 66º examines the role of regional architectural traditions as a source of inspiration for contemporary sustainable building across the diverse geographies of Canada. The exhibition explores six regions (Arctic, West Coast, Mountain, Prairie, Continental, Atlantic) through photo and text wall panels and architectural models.
Curated by John McMinn and Marco Polo.
