This class will begin with the fundamentals of lighting and proceed through technologies, design basics, and residential applications. Included will be a discussion of control options, lamp choices, and practical lighting tips and techniques.
Optimizing energy efficiency while maintaining lighting quality will be emphasized throughout the presentation. You will also have a unique opportunity to view up close demonstrations of color, light distribution patterns, and see lighting equipment.
INSTRUCTOR:
Mark Whitney, LC, Lighting Specialist
Mark has more than 13 years of professional lighting experience with Portland
General Electric. He currently provides technical lighting support for
residential, commercial and industrial
projects of all types and sizes. Mark dedicates a portion of his time to
lighting education and is active with the Illuminating Engineering Society of
North America, including a recent term as the Oregon Section President. Mark is
Lighting Certified through the National Council on
Qualifications for the Lighting Professions and a LEED Accredited Professional
through the USGBC.
