Teresa Coady and Marco Polo

Teresa Coady is the Principal and Founding Partner of Bunting Coady Architects. Known throughout Canada as an innovator in sustainable and energy efficient design, Coady is responsible for developing and pioneering the Integrated Design Process which involves the client in all aspects of design and construction. Her vision to create living breathing buildings is behind such landmark projects as the award-winning UBC Life Sciences Centre, Vancouver Port Authority Head Office, Kwantlen Cloverdale Trades and Technology Centre and Douglas Border Crossing. 

Marco Polo graduated from the UBC School of Architecture in 1985, and subsequently worked in professional practice in Toronto. He was editor of Canadian Architect from 1997 until 2003. Polo joined Ryerson University’s Department of Architectural Science in 2002, where he is now Associate Professor. He served as editor of The Prix de Rome in Architecture: A Retrospective (2006), and co-edited In the Place of Sound: Architecture/Music/Acoustics (2007). His research into the history, theory and criticism of Canadian modern architecture was recognized with the Ryerson University Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Science Research Excellence Award for 2006.
