The speakers are:

Bruce Alford, Energy Analyst, Oregon Department of Energy
Ann Hushagen, Energy Analyst, Oregon Department of Energy

Description:

Individuals who regularly review building simulation models observe certain recurring  errors which can be easily avoided.   This presentation addresses the diagnostics and correction of these.

The speakers have extensive experience in the detailed review of complex building models and will address both the more common as well as the more exotic errors. The discussion will be illustrated with both TRACE and eQUEST examples.

Some of the topics which will be discussed include:

    * DOE2 defaults that can significantly affect the energy use outcome
    * Small input variables that can have large impacts on modeled energy use
    * Reviewing energy measures individually to develop the interactive package
    * Using the information available in the Detailed Output Simulation path to perform a quality control review and model calibration.
    * A brief review of the eQUEST tutorial, “Detailed Simulation Reports Summary”.

ODOE is presently developing a calibration check list to assist in the internal quality control review process. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute ideas to the checklist.
