Dinner Keynote: Thomas Mueller, President & CEO, Canada Green Building Council

Thomas MuellerPresident of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) since 2005, Thomas has been involved in sustainable resource management and planning and green building and sustainable community development for over twenty years. 

He previously held various positions in the Policy & Planning Department of Metro Vancouver where he focused on developing demand side management programs in the business sector.  During this time he created and managed the first local green building program in Canada. In his last position with the District he was Division Manager, Business & Community Services, delivering sustainability programs to the private sector and community at large.

For his green building work, Thomas received the 2000 and 2002 Innovation Award from the Architectural Institute of BC and the 2005 FCM - CH2MHill Sustainable Community Award.

Thomas is a Founding Director of the Canada Green Building Council, and joined the Board at its inception in 2002.  He chaired the LEED BC Steering Committee, which was responsible for the first adaptation of the LEED building rating system outside the U.S.  He also chaired the Vancouver Chapter of the CaGBC from 2002-2005 and is a past Board member of the USGBC Cascadia Chapter.
