Mark your calendars! Seattle and Portland will now be joining forces in a combined engineeringgreen07 on December 17-18 in the Tiger Woods Conference Center at the Nike Campus in Beaverton, OR. This effort will allow for broader participation and an even higher quality program.
This innovative conference is the premier event for integrating green practices into all types of engineering – from the site to the systems. It will draw in professionals from the realms of civil, electrical, structural and mechanical engineering. Last year’s event in Seattle was met with great success – the event attracted over 200 attendees and featured keynote speeches by ASHRAE president Terry Townsend and USGBC Board Chair Kevin Hydes. Charged with the momentum of last year’s achievements, we hope that this year’s conference will reach an even higher level of success.
Through technical trainings and workshops, attendees will be equipped with sufficient technical knowledge of green engineering practices, and will subsequently be empowered to integrate those practices into the holistic design process.

Scholarships Available!
If you are university faculty, staff of a non-profit or staff of an affordable housing development company, and you wish to attend the conference, but cannot afford the full registration fee, you may be eligible for the scholarship fee of $250. Please contact Jenny at jenny@cascadiagbc and include the following information:
1. The organization or university you will be representing.
2. Why you wish to attend the conference and how it would be of benefit to your work.
3. The name, phone number and email of a reference who could speak on the value of this conference to your work.
The conference will feature keynote speaker Gary Christensen, the developer behind the landmark Banner Bank building, which received a LEED Platinum rating. Gary is the owner of Christensen Corporation, a commercial development firm that focuses on high performance, sustainable projects. Gary's creative thinking and his passion are evident in the Banner Bank building. Not only does it use 50 percent less energy than Boise codes require, it also has a first-of-its-kind system for collecting and re-using stormwater and greywater from both the building and from the public right-of-way surrounding the building.
Continuing Education Credits!
Engineers - You can earn CEUs for this conference; certificates of completion will be available.
Architects - You may recieve 11.5 AIA Credits for this conference.
