Step 2:
The Nominating Committee will review all completed applications to select those candidates that meet the qualifications to stand for election by the Cascadia general membership. The Committee will notify qualified candidates by February 20.
Step 3:
The candidates chosen by the election committee will stand for election by the Cascadia Membership at large.
The Nominating Committee will post the applicants’ responses to Part One of the Board Candidate Qualifications Questionnaire on the www.cascadiagbc.org website for the benefit of the voters. Cascadia Members may vote for the candidates based solely on this information; no other campaigning is allowed on the part of candidates.
All individual Members of Cascadia are eligible to vote. The online voting period is from Feb 20, 2008 to March 10, 2008. The winning candidates will be notified by email and by telephone by March 17, 2008, and will be expected to attend the Board meeting scheduled for April 19, 2008. The election results will be publicly announced at the Living Future Conference on April 16-18, 2008.
Open Board Positions and Allocation of Board Positions:
Board seats are allocated specifically across the three states and one province that make up Cascadia. A total of 6 seats are allocated to each Oregon, Washington and British Columbia and 2 seats are allocated to Alaska. To promote representation on the Board from all geographic regions and in both large and small markets, one seat from each of Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Only Members from these markets (based on place of employment) may stand for election to these three seats, although all Members may vote for these candidates. The identification of small and emerging markets for each state/province is defined in the table below.

*This seat will be a two-year term.
No company/organization within Cascadia may have more than one representative serve on the Board concurrently. Should two members of any one organization be elected to the Board simultaneously, the candidate with the most votes of the two will serve, regardless of the vote count relative to other candidates. Candidates from companies/organizations already represented on the Board will not be allowed to stand for election until the affected Board member is up for re-election or leaves the Board.
