Ampere Annex in
Vancouver, WA Sets Milestone as 100th LEED Certified Project
The
Ampere Annex project renovated a 60-year-old storage facility into
Bonneville Power Administration's campus' information services building.
The renovation incorporated many energy- and water-saving technologies. By
adding high-performance glass windows and skylights, the Ampere Annex will
realize 21.85 percent energy savings over ASHRAE 90.1-1999 and provide
views for the building occupants. Dual-flush toilets and low-flow faucets
will provide savings of 40 percent in water usage over conventional
plumbing equipment.
Materials selection also contributed to the
project's LEED Silver award. Of the total building materials, 51 percent
contained recycled content and 48 percent were manufactured locally with
75 percent of materials locally extracted or harvested. For the full
